Sound Foundations

Tees Valley Music Service’s new integrated early years programme for children aged 0–5, designed to build strong foundations in communication, social development, and school readiness through music. Bringing together work in schools, family hubs, and community settings, the programme combines high-quality musical experiences with practical support for practitioners and parents. At its heart is a shared resource bank that enables consistent, long-term learning across home and early years environments. Through singing, movement, and play, Sound Foundations supports children to develop confidence, language, and creativity, while empowering the adults around them to deliver meaningful, sustainable musical experiences every day.
