Vocal tuition in Hartlepool

TVMS offers singing and vocal tuition for learners who want to develop their voice, confidence and musical understanding. Lessons can support children who enjoy singing, young people developing their vocal identity, and adults who want to begin or return to singing. Depending on availability, vocal lessons may take place in schools, colleges or through local music centre provision.

Over the last 25 years, TVMS has become well-known for its 'SNAPPY' performance programme in locations around Hartlepool from the Borough Hall to various sports halls and churches - a highlight for thousands of children across Hartlepool, bringing them together for unforgettable Spring, Summer, and Christmas events. Families treasure these special moments; often sharing how bittersweet it is when their children transition to secondary school and they can no longer attend.

What many may not realise is that the talented teachers from TVMS - some of whom form the live SNAPPY band - are dedicated to nurturing young musicians every day in schools across Hartlepool. Children can discover the joy of music via a wide range of instrument and vocal lessons, along with engaging ensembles, available throughout Hartlepool during the academic year.

Singing together - choirs and performances

Singing lessons can be the first step into wider musical opportunities with TVMS. Across the Tees Valley, singers may be able to take part in choirs, ensembles, workshops, exams and performances when ready. TVMS also supports community singing opportunities, including adult community choirs. In Hartlepool specifically, we have recently started a Training Choir for young people in Year 3 to Year 6 who are keen singers. This takes place at our Hartlepool Music Centre within High Tunstall.

Hartlepool Music Centre

In addition to lessons, Hartlepool Music Centre within High Tunstall College hosts local ensemble opportunities where young musicians can play and develop with others.

This is where our new Hartlepool Training Choir is based, rehearsing 3:45-4:30pm on a Monday evening. Always welcoming new members from Y3-Y6.
