At Tees Valley Music Service, we believe that music is for everyone — children discovering their first instrument, teenagers expanding their musical identity, and adults picking up a lifelong dream or returning to music after a break. Whether you’re learning in school, joining as an adult, or exploring music as a family, TVMS offers a friendly, supportive environment built around progress, creativity, and confidence.

What You Can Expect with TVMS

 

🎵 Lessons for Children, Young People & Adults

We provide high‑quality, face‑to‑face tuition delivered by experienced TVMS teachers:

• Instrumental & vocal lessons in schools and colleges (individuals & small groups)

• Evening lessons at our Music Centres (Stockton, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough & Redcar)

• Adults can learn with us too! Both in person and/or online via Zoom.

🎺 Choirs, Ensembles & Community Opportunities

From beginner ensembles to advanced groups, we welcome members of all ages.
All groups are free for TVMS instrumental/vocal pupils with a small subsidised fee for those not receiving tuition.
Adults can sing with one of our community choirs on Tuesdays (Middlesbrough), Thursdays (Stockton) or Fridays (Yarm).
 

🎓 Exams, Performances & Workshops

When ready, learners of any age can enter music exams, take part in workshops led by specialists, and perform in concerts across the Tees Valley.
