CHOP CHOP
What are we building?
We are learning to distinguish rhythm (the spoken words in the rhyme) from the pulse (the steady ‘chopping’ of the claves). Enjoy how creative the children can be with their recipe ideas!
Vary the tempo (speed) of the chopping action (pulse) - bigger fruits could be chopped slowly. Some ingredients could be sprinkled or poured. Explore vocal sounds and actions to show this. Can the children taste the different ingredients? You could chant the following rhyme before asking who remembers the ingredients.
