Welcome to Tees Valley Music Service
At Tees Valley Music Service, we provide exceptional music opportunities for children and young people in Stockton-On-Tees, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, and Redcar & Cleveland. We believe that every child should have access to a wide range of opportunities, regardless of their background. We offer tuition, ensembles, school programmes, teacher CPD and events in various styles and genres and all of our pupils receive free membership of all TVMS ensembles. Additionally, we offer events and workshops to the wider community, from Japanese Taiko and African Drumming, to Songwriting or rocking out in our Rock Factory facility.
The Hub Lead Organisation of the Tees Valley Music Hub
Tees Valley Music Hub (TVMH) is a partnership of educational and cultural organisations and practitioners who work together to support, deliver and enable the best possible musical opportunities for the children and young people of the Tees Valley. The Music Hub programme funds a network of 43 Hub partnerships which cover every area of England. We receive central Department for Education funding which is brokered and managed by Arts Council England. [Click here to learn more...]
Special Projects
TVMS is also involved in national initiatives and is a key delivery partner in FIRST THING MUSIC. Since 2018 we have co-developed a teacher training programme with project leader Lindsay Ibbotson and Lucinda Geoghegan, Chair of the BKA Education Committee, and Education Director for the National Youth Choir of Scotland. BKA trained TVMS staff continue to roll this out to more schools across Tees Valley this year and it is having a significant impact. For more information go to First Thing Music.
