FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH IS THE COMPETITION?
There is no registration fee for the competition - it is completely free to enter.
DO I HAVE EVER HAVE TO PERFORM LIVE?
Round 1 all performances are pre-recorded, so just submit your best take(s).
Round 2 is a live performance in front of a panel - but they're REALLY friendly.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE VIDEO OF MY PERFORMANCE?
The primary reason for video submissions is to give our first panel a broad sense of who has applied and who to invite through to the second round (in-person audition) with a different panel.
On registering to take part you will have the option to opt in to having your video submission(s) used in our digital broadcast - highlighting some of the entries we've had this year. If you would rather we didn't share your entries with anyone other than the first panel, then that's totally fine and will not go against you.
If you're happy for your video to be used, we will collate the performance videos and edit a combined video including inserts from our host and judges. This will then be streamed via our social media channels (Facebook and YouTube).
CAN I HAVE SOMEONE ACCOMPANY ME WITH AN INSTRUMENT?
Of course!
WHAT IS THE SKILL LEVEL?
Tees Valley Singing Sensation is open for all skill levels and vocal styles within the age groups outlined above.
WHAT SHOULD I SING?
You may sing any style that you are most comfortable with. It must not contain explicit language, and should be appropriate for the age range of your division. From contemporary to musical theatre, opera to folk, the choice is yours. Although we do love happy songs.
CAN I SING AN ORIGINAL?
Yes, we love to hear original work!
